The multiple roles that women can play in society if given the opportunity is really a tremendous asset.

Alumni

I grew up in Oakland, the daughter of Ernie and Mary Jane Grausgruber. In high school I in was active in basketball, softball, Student Council and Students Against Drunk Driving. I enjoyed my time in high school. One of my proudest high school moments was being part of the first girls basketball team from Susquehanna to win a District Championship. I graduated in 1993 and continued my education at Lock Haven University.

Physician Assistant

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Health Science from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.  Two years after completing my Bachelor's degree, I returned to Lock Haven and obtained my Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. I have been practicing medicine for 21 years, and I have focused my career in the field of Orthopedics. I currently work in the Binghamton area specializing in Adult Joint Reconstruction. I treat patients with hip and knee arthritis, as well as hip and knee replacements.

Mom

In 2011, I became a mom when my son Owen was born.   Three years later, my husband Kyle and I were blessed with our daughter Kate. Currently Kate is entering 4th grade. Owen is making the transition from the elementary school to the high school and is starting 7th grade. Being a mom,  I can easily relate to the concerns of the district's parents.  I want quality education for my kids, with the smallest class sizes possible. I want them to attend a safe school. I want to be informed when a safety drill occurs or when an event occurs that may jeopardize their safety.

Coach

This is the most unexpected role that I have taken on. I never had any intention of coaching a sport. Despite loving sports, I never thought that I had what it took to be a coach. That was always my husband's thing. About four years ago, when my kids were 7 and 4, I realized it was time to find something for me. Something that did not involve the kids or my husband. It was time to get out of the house! I decided to volunteer with the Susquehanna 5th and 6th grade girls basketball team. I intended to coach for at least two years but the COVID pandemic began at the end of my first season with the team and after that I took a few years off. Even though I spent some time away from it, I found I really loved working with the kids. I got back to coaching two years ago, and I have been the volunteer assistant coach for the Susquehanna 5th and 6th boys basketball team. In 2022, I was an assistant coach in the Blue Ridge Youth Soccer League and I am continuing again in 2023.

Board Member NEPA Community Health Care

Recently I was invited to be a part of the Board of Directors for NEPA Community Health Care. NEPA Community Health Care is a health center which provides health care to Northeastern rural Pennsylvania. Services available include primary medical care, mental and behavioral health services and dental care. I am very proud to have been selected to join this group in overseeing this organization.  I have been practicing medicine for 20 years and I feel that my experiences in doing so will enable me to offer a valuable perspective to the board.
