Why?
Why do I want to be a part of the Susquehanna Community School Board?
In the simplest terms: communication. When I think of what I want from a Board member, or anyone representing me in any elected capacity, I want communication. I want my representative to communicate my concerns to the board when necessary. I want to feel like I can contact that representative and that person will listen to my concerns with respect and understanding. I want that person to be confident and strong enough to convey those matters to the Board as a whole. I also want communication from the district. I want to be informed of safety drills and issues that arise at the school in a timely matter. I want detailed minutes posted on the school’s website so I can see what the people who are representing me are doing to better our school. I want to see how they are voting. I want to see if they are representing me and my values. Currently, I do not feel all of those sitting on the board are living up to what I expect from someone representing me. I am the kind of person who believes that if you don’t like the way something is, then do something to change it. So I decided to do just that.
